SHHHHHHHH!
Many of us are strangely drawn to the website, PostSecret.com, where people mail in their deepest, darkest confessions to be promptly displayed in a voyeuristic fashion. I thought it might be fun to do a similar airing of dirty laundry here for all to read. I talked to a few loyal Lifestyledaily.com readers and some of my friends, and asked them to confess their deepest thoughts.
"I worked as an assistant for a very big Actor. We ended falling for each other and carrying on a steamy, passionate affair for two years. He was separated from his wife but he wanted to keep the affair private during the divorce. We eventually broke up and I am now married to someone else but he still sends me diamond jewelry and a card on my birthday every year!"
-Eva, 41.
"Sometimes I wear the same jeans, not once and not twice but THREE days in a row before washing them."
-Elisabeth, 27.
"I had a small crush on my best friend's twin brother but she made it very clear that she didn't want us to date. One week she had to go away for a conference and she asked me to stop over to feed her cat and water the plants. The first day I stopped over, Id the door to find her brother sitting on the sofa watching TV. He had learned that I would be watching the house and came over in hopes of running in to me. We ended up have a steamy fling that week and my best friend never found out!"
-Lauren, 46.
"Nobody knows this but I have a completely flat chest. My breasts aren't just small, they are completely non-existent! I have worn 'Falsies' my entire life before finally deciding to get breast implants next month."
-Sarah 29.
"When I was just starting college, I had a controlling girlfriend who would frequently have tantrums and ridicule me in front of my friends. The final straw was when she wouldn't even let me have a night out with my guy friends without a huge tantrum that resulted in damage to my car or apartment. I broke up with her and she begged and pleaded with me. She even made up a pregnancy story. I refused to believe her, and stopped taking her calls. It's been 20 years and even though I knew she was lying, I still kind of wonder."
-Dan, 39.
"I have always maintained a reputation as a very proper, old fashioned type of woman. I organize bake sales and never wear skirts above the knee. My friends would be downright shocked that I was a Go-Go dancer for a year in college."
-Erica, 36.
"My boyfriend's ex-girlfriend decided she wanted to get back together with him and started a campaign to win him back. It got so bad, that she would show up to any place we were at. I decided to take some serious action and posted her phone number and picture with 'Call for a Date with a Nympho' above it all over the downtown area and in several free Singles Newspapers. She was so busy dealing with all the phone calls that she stopped bothering us!"
-Angela, 22.
"I often skip the luxury salon in favor of the $11 haircut. Shhh! Don't tell my friends!"
-Elana, 27.

Early Bird : A Memoir of Premature Retirement
Early Bird : A Memoir of Premature Retirement
Have you ever wondered what it might be like to retire early and spend your days paddling around the pool of a retirement home and playing Mah Jong at the clubhouse? Rodney Rothman, a former head writer for The Late Show with David Letterman, decided to do just that. He moved in with a senior at Century Village, a retirement village located in Florida, and experienced the senior. Rothman did a short interview with LifestyleDaily writer, Elana Rubin.
1.) Tell us a little about yourself...
R: 32 years old, born in Queens NY, moved to Westchester when I was 7. Went to Middlebury College in Vermont. Sagitarius, I love pineapple.
2.) As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
R: Since I was nine or ten, a writer, though I had no idea how to go about doing that. I once took the train into New York when I wa a teenager to try and get a joke on SNL. Went to the lobby of 40 Rockefeller and tried to talk my way in. It did not work.
3.)Do you still keep in contact with anyone from the book?
R: Sure, I still have lots of friends there. I'm probably the only person I know who routinely gets voicemails and emails from elderly people he is not related to.
4.) You remarked about finding a Jewish girl in the book. What traits of the older women did you enjoy that you wish some of the 20 and 30 something Jewish girls possessed?
R: Hmmm, dangerous question. I think people in our generation are too picky, myself included. I envied the older people I met because they seemed to be not as burdened by high expectations.
5.) Not that I'm asking you to generalize, but what popular misconceptions did you find untrue about the retirees? What was true?
R: People think that all older people are grouchy, or that you become more grouchy as you get older. while down there I learned that people don't change as much as you think. If you're grouchy when your 20, you're grouchy when you're 80. Its just that we don't call it "grouchy" when a person is 80, we use other words that are not printable.
6.) If you were given the choice to write comedy for any show past or present, which would you choose?
R: SNL in 1975 would be fun. And of course Who's The Boss, 1987.
7.) You've just been cast opposite Alan Alda in a new groundbreaking series on FX......Nevermind I have no related question. It just sounds like a great idea.
8.) You are given one "Mr. Yuck" name tag, what famous person do you give it to and why?
R: Whoever came up with the phrase "Mr. Yuck"
9.) You are a good Jewish boy; have you called your mother lately?
R: Talked to her this morning. She is in Chile right now.
10.) What do you hope to do next in life?
R: I'm thinking about going to the gym.

Shopping, Earning & Saving on the Internet
The Mom's Guide to to Earning and Saving Thousands on the Internet by By Barb Webb & Maureen Heck.![]()
I've had the privilege of knowing Maureen Heck through a Mom's group and her wealth of knowledge never ceases to amaze me. A New Jersey native, Maureen is a Stay-at-Home Mother to a beautiful little girl. She remarks that a huge motivating factor of co-authoring the mom's guide was that exploring the information in the book even helped her family survive on one income.
The book presents numerous tips on ways to earn extra money on the internet and ways to save money through various online deals and coupons. The authors also share their tips on avoiding scammers and spam. It will be featured in the April Edition of Womans Day.
Q. How did you decide to write the book?
The book was the brain child of my co author, Barb Webb. She had been kicking the idea around in her head for a while, but was looking for someone to co-author it with her. We had been sharing our writing for a little while, and she felt my style complimented hers, and asked me if I wanted to take on the project with her. I will be eternally in her debt for the experience, even if we never make another dime off the book.
Q. What is your favorite subject to write on?
Fiction is my passion. I like the scary stuff, and would love to publish a full length thriller novel, or something paranormal. I also love comedy, you know, Erma Bombeck type stuff, she tickles my funny bone.
Q. What is the best part about being a mother?
The best part about being a mother, for me, is just being one. Children were not part of my "life plan", but now that I have my daughter, I couldn't imagine my life without her. She has completed me as a person in ways I never thought possible. I get to see life through the eyes of a five year old each and every day. That is an amazing thing.
Q. What advice do you have for other moms?
Let your children keep you young. Get down on the floor with them, play games, have a burping contest, go outside and blow bubbles. Childhood is fleeting, and over before you know it. Embrace it, enjoy it, and live it, with your kids.
Q. What advice do you have for aspiring writers?
Never give up. There is something to be learned with each and every rejection you receive. Use them to make you a better writer, and never get discouraged. Write something everyday, you become a better writer everytime you put something on paper.
Q. If you had to choose between Eating nothing but hot pepper sandwiches for a week or a bake-off with Martha Stewart, which would you choose?
That's easy! Hot pepper, I love. Martha Stewart, not so much. Plus, she could out bake me blindfolded, and who needs that sort of embarrassment?
Q. What are your tips for bargain shopping on the web?
Well, without violating copyright laws ;), I will say use coupon codes whenever possible, shop clearance sales, and comparison shop. Read the chapter in our book, lots of good advice there.
Q. Why should we buy this book?
Because it would make me happy, and my happiness matters, no? Seriously, there is a lot of imformation piled into an easy to understand and follow guide. We have done the work for you, leaving you to enjoy the spoils of the internet. There is something for everyone in this book. Even my father tells me he has learned a lot, hes not even a woman, let alone a mom!
Q. Are you wearing panties (just kidding).
What if I said I weren't? ;)
Q. Who is your role model?
My role model, hmmm, you ask tough questions. I don't have a specific role model. I am who I am, and do not try to be anything I am not. I think, if I had a gun held to my head and had to choose, I would say all strong women everywhere can serve as my collective role models. There are parts of so many women I know that inspire and encourage me to be a better person, I want to be like them when I grow up.
Q. What is your dream handbag or pair of shoes?
I would love a Dooney & Bourke handbag, they have such fun designs! I would love something fun from the Star or Hearts collection, and then a leather bag for more formal occasions. I'm not a fashion maven though, so I can't justify spending a ton of money on handbags. Maybe if everyone that reads this buys my book--hmmm.
Q. Favorite Comedian?
Favorite comedian of all time, by far, Eddie Murphy.
Thanks to Maureen Heck for answering my probing questions!

Until Death Do Us Part?
Turning to ‘page two’, the legendary radio host announced the celebration of a matrimonial reunion in a small county of the United States. With a voice rising just at the right moment to emphasize the unique partnership, he shared with listeners of a couple celebrating their sixty second wedding anniversary.
Listening to the broadcast, I began to think about this amazing partnership. Two unique individuals sharing a path of memories, trials, and love. I began to wonder how they actually met, how their paths crossed many years ago. Were they guided to meet while setting at a soda fountain, or was it from an introduction that began through a friend. Another possibility may be that they were neighbors while in their early youth, and the friendship in later years became love.
For sixty-two years the couple outlined a path for others that became a part of their unique path. Her parents were introduced to his parents, and quite possibly gathered together for family celebrations. Through the years the couple may have been given the blessing of children. Together they guided their children with parental love and protection. Along the path their adult children walked their own isle of matrimony while the parental couple sat together hand in hand in the front row, tears of pride and happiness softly trickling down their faces.
For sixty-two years this partnership laughed together, cried together, and worked together as one.
“So when they move on, will they still be husband and wife?”
Unity has always been a part of creation. A part of the creation began with the unity of man and woman for it is written that ‘it is not good for man to be alone’, thus the creation of matrimony. Marriage is so important in an earthly plan that the subject’s expression is highlighted many times in the greatest book ever written.
It is simply a part of the earthly plan.
I feel when one completes their earthly plan, we began (or move on) to life-everlasting. We are together with those loved ones who completed their earthly plan before us. We also continue to guide and protect those we love who are still in earth’s plan. Simply, I feel we remain together forever with those we love.
“When we move on, do we remain as husband and wife? A more complex question, what if one while in life had more than one husband or wife?”
I have had those who have asked the question above with a look of an ‘I hope not’ expression, followed by a laugh of relief upon receiving the answer. I guess they do not want the earthly emotion of jealousy to stir up the happiness we receive when moving on.
Along one’s earthly plan, we are given important titles along the path. We may become husband or wife, brother or sister. We may be given the blessed title of being a parent, or a grandparent. Each title given is with a purpose, a responsibility, and of love.
When we move on I feel the titles given on earth remain on earth, but the love from the title continues. The love for the wife is a unique gift given along an earthly path, and love is a part of life-everlasting. A wife’s love for her husband begins on earth, and continues forever in life-everlasting. Both share memories together that is carried on in everlasting. One may have shared memories with another wife or husband along their path, but they are memories of one.
Can you just imagine the many memories the couple of sixty-two years will share – in everlasting?
