Artist, Amanda Kane's words:Vintage Photo Charms and Pendants are art, or photographs, behind glass and framed to be worn as jewelry, or perhaps, placed in a special spot to be admired. The purpose of each charm or pendant is to invoke feelings to the wearer, or admirer. Feelings of dreams, creativity, imagination; endless possibilities… or feelings of special moments in one’s lifetime.
Uniquely handcrafted, each charm and pendant goes through a number of processes before it is completed. The vintage faerie team begins with a high-quality photographic print of the original photo. All image designs are from their extensive collection of antique images, text and documents dating as early as the late 1800's. They cut glass by hand to insure quality and size accuracy. They then expertly frame the glass encased print by melting a silver metal over high heat to create a smooth and thick frame. Lastly sterling bails are added to make the designated piece into a charm or pendant.
A vintage picture of little fairies, edited with a splash of color make the perfect charm or pendant. I had a couple charms made especially for my husband and I with pictures of our girls. His pendant had a picture of his two daughters with a biblical scripture on the back; mine a picture of my little girl with her full name and birthdate on the back. I was in complete astonishment when Id my pretty silver box dressed with shimmering ribbon and small charm. Inside the box, just beyond the glittering confetti, were my intricately crafted charms.
