Fitness Advice from a Regular Girl

site

The Sunshine State is where I live. I enjoy the 'year-long summer' weather, the eclectic restaurants, art galleries and the flashy nightlife at the beach. At the same I have a personal standard that I hold myself to if I want to keep my other half around, and most importantly, to feel good about myself, all the while showing it off. :) After practicing every single indoor and outdoor sport, I came to the conclusion that everyone of us is different!

Rosie

I don't expect that my experiences are going to work for you, but at least I want to give you a few hints to start creating your own workout routine. Unfortunately we deal with more emotional and physical baggage than most men, and at times, we use our internal and external hardships as excuses not to exercise. Like PMSing, breaking up with a boyfriend, fighting with our sisters over the phone... None of these things help at all, but I find that those every day issues are 'sometimes,' the right buttons pushed to sweat all our frustrations & satisfactions through a well-designed workout. No need to buy expensive machines here! Read on and you just might unexpectedly find yourself half way to of your new daily excercise plan. :)

These are my workout picks:

Tae Bo: Yeah--affordable fun! Just plug in the DVD player, and you are all set. And don't get aggravated if it takes you a couple of days to catch on. It happened to me...but I'm a professional now. :)

Yoga: When my grandma told me she was doing yoga three times a week I said to myself, "easy as pie..." Well, I was wrong... yoga is one of the hardest excercises, and most priceless for your body, combining balance, flexibility, mental health, the whole package. Sign up for a few classes, and hopefully you get hooked like I did. :)

Boxing: Hard to keep up with, but worth every breath. You will need a little bit of coordination, and big lungs. I got a punching bag for myself last Christmas, and I don't get tired of spreading the word about this incredible cardio workout. Taebo is a good 'sneak preview' of what you can accomplish through boxing.

Spinning: I know spinning bikes are expensive, but I got mine at an affordable price through an online auction, and it was my best health investment ever. After 45 minutes on this unconventional bike, you will be unstoppable, believe me! There are plenty of reading materials and visual aids out there if you want to learn more. Or you can sign up for some classes at your local gym, where instructors create a great 'keep the tempo' enviroment, and fellow spinners will cheer you up all the way.

Ok, time to put my 'super hero' outfit on.
