Go Pro!
The BABYPRO™ video series, created by Dr. Lara Needham combines inspiring classical music, vivid sports imagery, and soothing voice-overs to create an engaging introduction to active play, and in my opinion, more notably, a huge influence and willingness to strive to engage in sports for babies and toddlers. Oh, and did we mention that the video is set to classical music?
It is common knowledge that when it comes to the health and wellness of our children, it is imperative that we parents begin to instill good habits early on. We know that good [and bad] eating habits form in toddler years, and it is no different for physical fitness. Introducing our little ones to the fun of sports is just the first step in developing physically active and coordinated children.
The first of the video series, “Let’s Play Ball!” was released in January 2005. This video serves as Team Sports 101 for your little one. With a presentation of the basics of baseball, basketball, and soccer, your tot will know just what to do her first day of Pee Wee League—well; at least she’ll be more prepared than the other kids!

BABYPRO’s™ second video, “Let’s Make a Splash!” was released in February 2005. This video introduces your preschooler to the wonderful world of water! What a great introduction to swimming, diving, and surfing. Captivating images of little mouths blowing bubbles, babies splashing and children riding waves are synchronized with lively compositions from composers such as Handel, Hayden, Bach, and Sousa. Babies are exposed to language progression through the repetition of action words and phrases such as "Pull with your arms," "Splash with your hands" and "Kick with your feet." These particular phrases are simple and easy to for young children to grab onto.

My 19 month old, Mia actually sat through both videos in two separate evenings, uninterrupted. Now I have something to occupy her while I am cooking dinner or taking a shower. I gave her a few of her balls in various sizes to play with while she watched “Let’s Play Ball.” She really seemed to get it, which is exiting for me. Since I found out I was going to have Mia, I have wanted it all for her. You know, straight “A’s” from Kindergarten on, an appreciation for the arts, and great athletic ability. I don’t think that’s too much to presume, and neither should you! Head over to BABYPRO™ to get your copies of these brilliant videos!
